I left my house a little early hoping to get a shot of the pier, a little bit of a sunset and some nice cloud formations in the sky. I figured that since there were clouds by my house (30-45 minutes away) that I would run into something similar at the beach. I even called a cousin of mine who lived in the area to confirm the clouds. When I got there, there wasn't a cloud in sight. I still took some photos and ended up with some really boring shots of the pier at sunset. Walking away disappointed, I walked past this Lifeguard stand and thought, why not. It would at least add a little to the shot and to the foreground. The sun had already set almost an hour earlier so this ended up being a 4 1/2 minute exposure. Not much editing here, just a little crop/align and a minor level adjustment.
