Johan Grimonprez at the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh
Edinburgh's Fruitmarket Gallery is running an exhibition on the work of Belgian artist, film maker and broadcaster Johan Grimonprez. One of the highlights of this is the disturbing 'dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y', first exhibited in 1997 - a 60 something minute piece on the history of airline hijackings and their subsequent coverage in the media.
This photo was taken while I was reflecting on the experience over a pint of Byker Wit in the Jolly Judge pub in Edinburgh, near the castle in the Old Town. This is a tourist pub, really, but on sunny days is a beautiful shady courtyard setting if you're looking for al fresco.
