I took a DAB radio into work so that I can hear the BBC doing what they do best (radio) in the format that they practically invented (DAB).
Infuriatingly my efforts are being thwarted by a bizarre signal. The school is on top of a hill, on a south facing slope. Winter Hill is positively hurling photons straight at me at an alarming rate. If I sit in my car in the car park DIRECTLY outside my room I get a belting signal and can listen to 6Music all day. But step inside my room and what do I get? "Absolute Radio" and Kiss feckin' FM.
I think Absolute is the current version of whatever Virgin Radio used to be, and whilst it's not dreadful it carries with it all that is bad about commerical radio, from adverts to shouty DJs to god awful dynamic compression.
I think I'm going to bust out the coathangers soon ;)
