Terror LeT loose by com4tablydumb

Terror LeT loose

With his acquittal by a Pakistani court, the many venomous tentacles of Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, the head of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and the mastermind of terror in the Indian subcontinent, are free to roam.

Cry me a river - A flood of relief? by com4tablydumb

Cry me a river - A flood of relief?

The Government of Karnataka deserves a product design award for its dual purpose begging bowl, which it has used successfully to bring in billions of rupees of flood relief in October 2009. The same bowl, suitably inverted, will doubtless be used when the droughts strike in early summer next year.

Statue trouble? Call in the experts by com4tablydumb

Statue trouble? Call in the experts

With Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati's statues threatening to appear all over the state, the Home Minister may be pressed to look west for help. No, not that far west, but just as far as Bamian, Afghanistan, where our Taliban friends have in the past demonstrated their expertise with statues.

Ramalinga Raju wants a laptop? by com4tablydumb

Ramalinga Raju wants a laptop?

We learn that the shamed and now imprisoned boss of Satyam has asked for a few simple pleasures to make his incarceration worth the time. Buttermilk? Yes, said the guards. Guntur Chicken? Hmmm, ok. Gongura pickle? Ok, but only on Sundays. You can already see where this is leading, so why wouldn’t the prison authorities?
By the time he got to asking the management for what he really, really wanted (nope, not a Spice Girl), the authorities had enough. So when Raju wanted a laptop, they shook their heads. “There is a mouse in his prison cell, let him make do with that,” the warden was reported as saying (off the record, of course).

After the Nobel, an Oscar for Obama? by com4tablydumb

After the Nobel, an Oscar for Obama?

Never has an American president so loved by the world on his first day in office been so scorned the day he was anointed a Nobel laureate. The Nobel for Chemistry we understand, given that eternal People magazine cover story he has going with Michelle (left to us, we’d pick Sarkozy-Bruni). But the Nobel for Peace, for one who is still taking troops out of Iraq and pumping them into Afghanistan? Why not have him share the prize with Osama bin Laden?
