Ok. I see your ear rings on the figure. She seems to be giving me a message to save precious Mother Earth. But she is doing it in a playful way that should be understood by all ages. Oh, put me out of my misery.

images of the sea or ocean are the hardest to forget. They can speak to you with the choir of wind singing at the background, or just the splash of the sea water on the sand alone, and only our memories can recreate that sound in the temples of our minds.

I so love this one my dear friend.

I love this, My first thought was that this sweet lady woke early saw the promise of a beautiful day from her beach shack, threw on a jacket over her pyjamas and rushed out clutching her painting equipment, to record what she saw!! Oh, I forgot, she'd forgotten to take off her earrings the night before!!

So happy to see you, dear Antoinette sistah!!! What joy that you are getting closer to the printing of your new book! Oh, that illustration is so simple but it brings an amazingly great sense of joy and humor. I just love the colors and the simple compo!!!!!!! A mature artist really knows how to come up with the best results with the least complication!! This is such a happy illustration!!!

Hey, love your hairdo and outfit! I see you are quite stylish! :)

I'm truly overwhelmed by the support of my flickr family. It gives me great joy to have you care about our book! It will be in the mail tomorrow! Thanks again, dear Sandra! What an amazing family I have in flickr! My local friends are in awe of the special relationships I've been blessed to develop on-line...how do we explain it?

Dear Antoinette, somehow in the rush of all that was happening at the time you posted this, I missed commenting on it! This piece has so much more meaning for me now as I've watched the "story" unfold. Richard (shashamane) was exactly on target with the "stories within stories" comment....oh what special stories. I remember telling you a long time ago that this story NEEDED to be out there...and NOW IT IS!!! Big hug to you dear friend!

Yes, you did, dear friend! And I listened! And you encouraged me . . . and now . . . you are at the other end, listening to my screams! hahaha!!! How does that saying go, "Be careful what you wish for!" . . . yes, there are so many stories....this story, the story of your accompanying us to the printer's . . . the aftermath . . . the day-to-day activities . . . guess we have our work cut out for us for awhile! How can I ever thank you for your incredible support!

Wonderful... I find this incredibly touching, and I love the title too. I've rather lost the plot around this image, though I gather from the furore that there is a plot. Is it to do with the book you are publishing? Has something happened while I've been off flickr? Hum, no doubt I shall find out soon :-/

How are you pal? I hope you are well, and that recent physical difficulties have much improved.....

Finally, I disagree with Leonardo!!!! I feel some pictures from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes. They rush in through my eyes like an emotional tide :-) I'm amazed that such a great artist could have said those words.... Anyway, enough quibbling.

Really just wanted to send a hug :-)

Still in awe about the serendipitous way the book finally came together! Stay tuned for Richard's hilarious doodle!
Caroline, don't know if I ever outlined the plot. . . one should click on the cat who lost its meOW to read more detail...this is one of the characters in the book, the artist grandmother who goes to the beach to paint away her sorrows. Fortunately, I'm a lot better than I was last summer...thank the dear Lord, because our recent publishing has been phenomenal...burning the candle at both ends! Ah, who knows about Leonardo anyway! Just PAINT from your head to your toes! Sending you huge hugs too, my friend!
