Postcards by Farl.
Postcards by Masayuki Sono is a hauntingly beautiful memorial of 911. Like two symmetrically curling wings, the two granite walls feature 270 profiles of the Staten Islanders who lost their lives in the World Trade Center. Individually carved to represent their likeness and marked with their name, birth date and place of work on September 11, 2001, the silhouettes are testament to the tragic reality that is terrorism.

A very eloquent way of approaching this monument. The beauty and fragility of the flower; the lasting shapes in marble commemorating mortal loss. Very nice, Farl.

Hi - I'm working with the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation and have been looking around Flickr for images. We just started a new group - National September 11 Memorial & Museum - and we'd love it if you'd share some of your photos.

Thanks very much,
