Camera Kiddies

Did he/she lose his/her camera???

I love it!
The most expensive camera--her mind. Love this!
Intense, Casual !!
He didn't bring his camera that day. Creative (bright and sensitive) more than intense.

Camera Kiddies by Cognitive Ambition.
During the last couple of months of the last school year, I had the opportunity to teach an after school photography class to this group of students. It was an interesting experiment. If I do it in the future, I think I will limit the class to six and students will have to submit a paragraph explaining why they want to be part of the class. What I found was that for many of them it was mostly an opportunity to be social but that for a handful, it was an opportunity to develop a new passion, something I would like to cultivate.

Now I can almost put a "face" to the pictures! Love the kid in the front centre--I guess she has the most imaginative eye! ;-).

Ha ha, it was fun taking this. Two of the kids hadn't brough their cameras but I couldn't put pics online that exposed their faces so while the others held their cameras to their faces, CT and JL found other ways to disguise themselves....

BTW, thanks so much for the comments you've made on their photos, Alaskan and Liyen (and LRayHolly, Won7ders, whitman-photography, Elimare, pusspaw, Rutty, Dede, Greg, Flatty, Alistair Craven, Pulpolux, cyanocorax, Rachel K, KenSA, Michael/ capemayX, someotherbob, Scrivenings...I hope I haven't missed anyone.) You are providing encouragement to a future generation of photographers!

E,
I am so excited for your class - for you - this is a great project in which their growth will be measured "frame-by-frame."

Thanks, Kat. I'm hoping for an even better group pic but that was all I had time for.

Dede, yes indeed. It is exciting and amazing to see their love of photography develop oh-so-quickly.

Mayr - I'm glad you found us!
