Saguaro Skeleton Four Peaks

This view of the cleverly named Four Peaks, the top of the mostly unpronouncable Mazatzal Mountains, seen from the desert at McDowell Mountain Park, northeast of Phoenix. We are looking through the ribs of a retired saguaro cactus, which are amazingly designed desert life. The ribs are lightweight but strong, and support the weight of a cactus that must way 1/2 a ton when mature.
