Making do with my portable audio equipment. The Canon Elura 100 is a DV camera used for our workshops. The Edirol R-09 is our field audio digital recorder.
At the December 2006 Pachyderrm Users Conference, we forgot to turn the Edirol on to record Peter Samis' opening keynote, but since we also did a video recording (actually with a Canon GL/2) I had an audio backup. Rather than digitizing the whole video (a later task), I am recording the audio directly from the camera to the Edirol... Well there is a trick, the stereo mini cable lines do not exactly match up; the left channel gets audio, but the right channel is noise. But this is an easy fix in Audacity to just delete one channel and then make it mono.
