Create Discussion Groups Around ImagesWithin the flickr environment, you can create "groups" for people, projects with common interests. A flickr group allows members to add photos from their individual account to the group "photo pool", and provides tools to have threaded discussions like a typical discussion board.

Groups can be set up to be open for anyone to join, or more private so members must be invited. There is no end to the variety of groups out there- the one shown above is called Vegafitti.. "deals with the narrow aspect of Graffiti that occurs on Plants (i.e. Trees, Succulents, and elsewhere while the plant is still alive)."! I only became aware of this group when they spotted some cactus grafitti photos I had taken in Hawaii, without knowing I was part of a group, See some other interesting groups: * Literature Hoedown * Recipes to Share * Sqaured Circle * Tell a Story in Five Frames * Flickr for Education ------------------------ return to cool flickr stuff ------------------------ This is but one piece of "I Didn't Know You Could Do That with Free Web Tools", a presentation for the 2006 K-12 Online Conference. Other pieces are scattered across the web! Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
