Compost Heap At Capacity

Compost Heap At Capacity by cogdogblog.
With more trimming and weed yanking, and lots of coffee grounds, my compost bin was getting pretty full. Plus there was a large differential between the lower half, which is churning away nicely, and the fresh material on top.

Do you turn the bin at all? Water it? Both can greatly assist the speed at which composting takes place and the even-ness of the pile

Oh hell yes. I turn it almost weekly and water almost as much as the garden. It takes a long time in the dry climate here, but it does work (as you know, I was inspired by seeing it done on Vancouver Island). I have worms active in this pit, they found it on their own.
