My question is, are they making signs like
this? Someone opens a food mart or liquor
store, is this sign an option or like
towering gothic churches are they too
expensive and impractical to build.
Look at the engineering to keep this
masterpiece secured above pedestrian's and
consumer's heads.
as they disappear, every city should have a
warehouse where the old signs are bought and
in a kind of museum of urban storefront
culture.
nice framing and background to highlight the
sign and chainwork. Especially the left
corner of blue sky.
I would hope so, but my guess is a lot of
these old signs are grandfathered in
somewhere... I never see signs like this
going up nowadays... usually they're replaced
with some plastic cheapo sign... Chicago has
a lot of these old signs all over the place
still... I imagine myself living in a loft
one day with one of these on my wall.
