Wanting for a three-light setup![]() After doing a shoot last weekend in which I got my arse kicked all around the park by bright, harsh sunlight, I figured I'd take some steps to try and find the best way to tame it. This is the first of them; I'll do more as I have time.
This shot would have worked but for my magnificent hat, which creates that horrible shadow on my face. Other frames used the sun for fill on that side, but the same sun was causing me to squint. This would have worked better if I'd had three lights: The key (camera right), some fill to take that shadow away (a reflector might have worked well) and a gridded light behind me to camera left to separate me from the background a bit more. Also, it have worked better if I hadn't chopped off my toes. My foot is healing, however. Strobist info: Vivitar 285HV, bare to camera right at full power. Mid-day sun providing limited fill, Magnificent hat providing horrible shadow. Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
