The Observatory, Clifton

The Observatory, Clifton

The Observatory sits on the hill top by the Clifton side of the Bristol suspension bridge. A former mill it was converted to house a camera obscura and telescopes for the use of art students from the Bristol School of Artists. From the Obersvatory one can follow a winding passage cut 27m down, in to the hillside which finishes as St Vincent's cave, located 76m above the floor of Avon Gorge.

I was really pleased with the result I achieved, taken near sunset, using my old Sigma 20-40mm lens, particularly in the vivid blue of the sky.
