Permanent Insects

Large view shows good detail on the unfortunates....

Contrasting with the known very short life-spans of insects like gnats and flies, these caught in amber are permanently caught for humans thousands of years later to see and marvel at. This macro of amber was taken at an outdoor vendor display at the Tucson Rock and Gem Show. There is a set for many of the photos I took at the February, 2007 show, here

Ah, but do we really need to re-create more insects? Seems to me that that are a zillion insect species and many will far outlive humans, LOL!
