Metal Buds
This macro of metalwork buds on a cactus is one of many images I shot over two days at the Fountain Hills Art Fair, February in Arizona. This artist works in metal to produce extraordinary sculpture. The clean lines, monumental scale, and fascinating textures distill the essence of iconic Southwestern cactus for me. This photo shows the top of a barrel cactus near the towering saguaro. This is really cool. I thought it was real at first. Metal artists are great, I have a buddy that Made a tree out of Metal. It looks so real that you have to touch it and get right up super close to even tell that it is not a real tree. Cool stuff.
