Rhodochrosite

I swear this looks like a cartoon figure here...maybe a monkey hanging from a tree?
yes, it looks just like Robert Crumb's keep on truckin' characters!
Rhodochrosite by cobalt123.
A very fine example of Rhodochrosite. This shot was taken handheld and the lighting was not the best. But a look at the large view will show the detail of the color and structure of this specimen which is about 8" tall.

This image and the next two were taken in the vendor room for IKON, at Inn Suites for the Tucson Rock and Gem Show. I want to thank James and Mary for being so gracious with my son and I while we were visiting on Saturday! If anyone plans to go to this show, look them up at Room 417. They have a very admirable and well-presented selection of minerals and fossils here.

This is a great shot. I had real trouble trying to photograph my little piece. I swear some minerals are camera shy.
