Large Look at a Small, Thin Weed

If you've got a large screen, take a look at this one in the original size, 1800 pixels wide.
Large Look at a Small, Thin Weed by cobalt123.
Macro shot of an unknown weed in the parking lot of my dentist's office. This is one fully-intended to be seen in the largest view uploaded. It only took 43 shots with my point and shoot camera to get this one that I liked, ha ha!

This just in (she says breathlessly, having just gotten home from a road trip), the plant ID has been made as:
Parkinsonia aculeata, "Mexican palo verde."

The ID Please group has come through again! Woohoo! I hear it is a legume, at that, and native to Arizona.

concrete block wall behind. Not often I can get that kind of background to "work". Once in a while I think I should keep a few pieces of matte poster board in the car with me.

Thanks, friends! this thumbnail view is rather plain, so I doubt many will see this one. Of all the images I've ever taken, this is the one taken only to see in the largest size. I made a 1200 pixel wide version of this one for my desktop image. Nice to have a peaceful image to look at amid the clutter of my desktop icons.

this is an amazing shot, from the thumbnail i thought it was some kind of structural shot of copper beams or something. gorgeous and alienating...

I think the term "persistence of vision" usually refers to the optical phenomenon that allows movies to be seen as action..
In Your case, it could be used to describe your attitude.. 43 frames to get just what you want Shouldn't be extraordinary, but in practice it Is.. And it paid off handsomely... the thumbnail view is fascinating and made me want a closer look.. and that's just what I got.. detail And pattern in one view.

weeds!
it's amazing how something so tiny and banal ca be so beautiful when looket at with an open mind. I ike everything about it: color, composition, texture... like a really soothing abstract image.

thanks for telling me, nana_cindy42! It's not on page 12 anymore, I found it about page 16 at the moment (10 pm Arizona time). It is falling fast, so if you want to see it "there" you gotta look quick for tomorrow it may disappear off Explore.

Today was amazing for when I looked through the images there, about 15 of my contacts have images in it for today! algo, eye of einstein and mimbravo (who all commented here) are all there too. Woohoo, congrats to all!
