This floor made of pennies for decoration adds a great touch to a great, old hotel with a very interesting restaurant. (I have photos from our dinner and also the delicious desserts of this place, coming soon.) Hotel Congress is definitely a place to visit for a good meal when you are in Tucson. The nightclub there also features a variety of local bands and alternative music. If you visit, be sure to walk down the hall to the restrooms and see the photos of the news coverage from the Dillinger Gang outlaws as they were captured at this hotel.

@pixability and X-Czech, if you have a chance to visit later in the evening, the magic seems more special for the lighting on the famous scaffolding sign for the hotel way on top of the place, and the night life, complete with neon and the greatest glow in lighting. Thankfully, the place has not been remodeled in any way to take away from the historic nature. The hotel lobby desk is antique and quaint with old-fashioned charm. When you walk around outside the place it takes up a small city block. You can peek in the glass windows to the hotel kitchen and it reminds me of similar New York city restaurant glimpses from the outside.
FYI: occasionally you will find art featured in the picture windows, like this image, a piece by Chris Rush, (one of 5 or 6) I captured a year ago.

Didja get the chance to head over to the Amarind Foundation? Sorry to not have been able to connect up with you when you were down this way.

A lot cheaper than the bar made from silver dollars in the Wort Hotel in Jackson, Wyoming.

Wonderful! What a great idea to tile the floor or wall. Probably cheaper than tiles!
