Golden Turd, Asakusa

    This Phillippe Starck-designed building has a pratty pretentious name I don't recall (something like "Flame D'Or"). According to my Lonely Planet guidebook, it's more commonly referred to as the "Golden Turd". I waited for a large vehicle (and did I ever have to wait - trucks and buses in Tokyo are amazingly compact!) to pass by to give it scale. Unbelieveably, jaw-droppingly ugly.
