In the kitchen
Assorted wooden spoons and utensils at Silvane's kitchen in a casual shot when I was at her place for lunch. I'd prefer it sharper and with less noise, but it was handheld at low light, with a large aperture and high ISO.

One day I will be able to afford a f/1.8 or f/1.4... :)
Great composition!

The f/1.8 50mm Nikkor costs about $100, it's not that expensive... but you'll probably want to get a split prism viewer for manual focus as well. If you shoot Canon you can get the f/1.8 for $80 which is cheaper than the 77mm B+W UV filter :)

I don't know, I really don't think it's worth.. The split screen alone costs US$ 105 for the basic module (+45 for extra bright and +45 for rule-of-thirds grid markings). AND the lens costs around US$100, so, in the end I'll spend around US$300 (plus shipping and import duty). The lens I really want is this: www.adorama.com/NK5014AFGU.html?searchinfo=ni kon 50mm f/1.4&item_no=5v
It's not being shipped yet, but I guess that around june '09 it'll be available.

This AF-S seems to be quite expensive, it's almost the price of the Sigma f/1.4 EX DG HSM which was highly praised in a recent dpreview review (and it is available in Nikon mount too).

I know, but I think this AF-S is better than the sigma.. It's much newer and what I've read about it is very promising.. I even thought of buying a D90 (~900US$ body only) and sell my D40.. So that I could buy any lens and it'd work! But the exchange rate + shipping and duties makes that D90 a very, very expensive alternative.
By the way, more info of this 50mm f/1.4 AF-S in: www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/50mm-f14-afs.htm
