Flickr introduces People in Photos

Got this email from my friend at Flickr. We have been tagging people in Flickr for ages, and today I hear a lot of people comparing Flickr's people tagging to Facebook.

Truth is, Flickr could've easily done the same from the beginning, (and if they did, they might've been able to avoid losing out to Facebook for the "most pictures uploaded" title.

However, you have to realize, Flickr are nice people. They're concerned about our privacy and stuff... that's why they've been putting this off until now! Still, for us Flickrites, I doubt too many people had actually switched to Facebook, while the folks who upload all their photos to Facebook are most likely a different target than Flickr's core.

So, what's next for Flickr? I suggest taking a look at Dropbox! (Auto sync Flickr folder?!)
