Bringing the whole of the previous five sketches together, the Australasia concept diagram was an incredibly satisfying achievement, which proved to myself for the first time that the task of producing a world underground map was more of an achievable goal than merely a vague idea. It's also a relatively tidy piece of work!

This sub-continent proved quite a challenge. Such a relatively small area that contains such a massive number of major populous centres makes for a tight squeeze. I hope this part of the map doesn't seem too busy as a result, but if it does, then surely that just describes the

This fellow was the toughest ask of the lot. There's nothing really here that defines where the lines should logically fit. I desperately wanted to move on to something more appealing (in logical design terms - no offence intended to East Asian folk), such as North America or Europe, but I decided to grit my treeth and battle through it.

Several trees paid the ultimate price before this diagram was drafted!

The next step was to add the western portion of South East Asia. This was the easiest part of the continent, but still caused quite a lot of consternation. This sketch followed many, many prototype attempts.
