20100625 - Clint's scissor injury - IMG_1018 - hand cut

The hanging flap of skin surprisingly survived. Bwood heals all things, including megaphones. I did have to wear bandages for a good week. Unfortunately I didn't have the common sense to peel the flesh back so you can see exactly how big the v-shaped scissor-cut is, but hey, I was busy bleedin' to death. I basically squeezed scissors as hard as I could with both hands and cut into my palm as hard as scissors could possibly cut. I kicked that scissor's ass -- totally stopped it from closing all the way! VICTORY!!!

Find out what happened: clintjcl.wordpress.com/2010/06/25/journal-medical-cut-my-...

In short: Use scissors appropriately and carefully. Do not use scissors as wire cutters. Do not use scissors to cut things so thick you need to squeeze both ends of the scissors with both hands. And, in a pinch, old underwear are quite handy to stop massive bleeding while calling your wife to find out where the gauze is because you don't want to get blood stains everywhere.
