Early morning, above a small village, Boot..... Calm morning, overcast and a little heavy. Walking through the ferns, tall now up to the waist in places, the morning cob webs being broken, dew hangs in the heathers and flowers of the moorland area. Somewhere on the edges of Great Barrow, a silent moor type hill we ascend, we will pass Eel Tarn and Stony Tarn and make our way on......
Some great stone slabs neatly cover an outcrop, the heather edges its sides, a small view into Eskdale below, the sun peers over from the west, finding a break in the clouds... The pastures below fill with more light.....golden green, framed by the ferns on a outcrop, the giant slabs and purples of the heather. A fresh, perfumed air lingers around me as I crouch for this.
Must of been a creative morning for me, to early for the brain to be in pano mode, I guess not everything requires huge sweeps of open country. A little different, use of shallow depth and natural light highlighting the areas of interest and an overhanging early sky.
