Facing the storm, the scene into the valley, on a low top, below the turbulence....

Apprehension in the calm protection of the summit crags, turmoil boils from the lofty surrounds, but the wanderer stands fast, witness to the drama...

The summit of Great Crag, the sky descends.... The broad flanks of High Spy & Maiden Moor lightly obscured by the vapor filled air... The greens of the pastures below becoming vibrant, fading out to Borrowdale....

Hood up....pat, pat, pat of the droplets bursting off the outer-shell, still though, the wanderer keen, with visibility and low atmosphere changing the landscape scene, there is much to soak in....

After a day on the summits in thick grey, an aimless horizon continuously out of sight, the hefty grey lifts...

Wandering the flats, backpack loose, boots half tied, a bright sunny afternoon.... Timeless lazy roaming.

A passing glance at the scene, a driveway to the fells.... The thoughts drift into what-if's & dreams

Impending rain.... Cumbersome clouds roll from the Borrowdale mountains.... Here between Grange Fell and Great Crag, watching the looming change come.... Silence amplified on these days.

A brutal sky, dark and thunderous, it grips Skiddaw and Blencathra....

From High Rigg the wanderer stands in the calm, viewing the demon taking hold as it advances, the darkness deepens, glorious back-light regains a hold on the fringe, a faint breath of a breeze returns.... A change came through.
