I love these rope lights tosses, the key is keeping them in the box. I have lots in my house all in a big ball and dont give anywhere near the same effect

Actually these were out of the box. With rope-lights they are uniform enough, with regular bulb holiday lights you are completely correct, the box adds that blend of order vs chaos.
