Hidden Money - Can you see what I see?
Wow, it made explore! Highest position: 25 on Monday, November 24, 2008
Entry for a local monthly photography challenge - Money. Update 31-05-08: This was the WINNER!
For those who don't 'get it' look at the vertical note.
The letters of the word 'MONEY' were darkened in PSP to show them off a little more, as I wasn't sure if they would be obvious enough, following a comment from my husband.
For those anoraks out there, I have counted the visible coins: £16.52. I didn't think to count the actual piles when I took the shot.
This photo has been requested to be used by many people, including Bournemouth University and in a trivia game by this company www.redcut.ch/ - I've been published - woo hoo!

Very nice. I'm curious what it looks like on a diagonal... I'm not sure whether that'll make it more subtle or stand out more.

Without the very clever line up of latin to make english this is still a cool shot.
You've made £9.37 look like a stack of loot / booty / treasure trove etc.
Also like the way you have darkened the letters.
Another one bites the explore pages ?
;-)

Fantastic shot , great idea ,well done .

Excellent idea, fabulous! And very well executed.
THe dull pennies in the background with the glossy shiny pounds in the foreground is brilliant.
I can see why you darkened the letters, really makes the money stand out well which is of course the main feature of the shot, but it might have been good to just leave it as more puzzling! But i totally understand why not, and I'm in awe of the idea. Fantasic stuff!
lucas ottone (49 months ago | reply)
wow! I admire this idea, really original!

were the letters modified or not? in anyway, the subject its great
I can see a bit noise on the far pounds.
In general, a great macro shot and congratulations!

Great use of DOF in this shot. I like the lovely warm tones in the photo and the letters spelling money adds a nice piece of interest. The darkened letters work well too. There is a little bit of noise in the darker areas but all in all a good shot.

Very creative shot!
If you get the word, it's an awesome shot!
For this reason, it was the right thing to darken the letters...cool!
Great idea and great execution!

Thanks for your kindly words in my portfolio. I appreciate it a lot ... first of all because comments always are welcome, and second because your are a great photographers (without any kind of doubts). I am very glad because you share your artistic point of view from some wonderful Brazilian places.
Thanks for your careful analyses, is a pleasure for me to receive comments
from friends with certainty with much more experience and professionalism than me.
Really the original pics was not very good in sharpness and focus. 1)I took this shot during a mission inside a very very dangerous place in brasil, so I was working SO fast. and inside my car moving band a little scared...)).
2) Someone the day after has stolen my equipment and so I have taken this serie with a CAm,, # Panasonic NV-GS400.. so this serie,,, miss of quality indeed.
I just have tried to represent this reality, as reportage, and no as artwork,, ::))
and I edited just the pic a little to give just a small emphasis,
.
but anyway...::))
I will be listening for news.
.
greetings from
roberto...
(You can see more pics of this serie in my folder ..tha I will post later in this great and kindly group)
an sorry for my terrific english..::))
