Cold Light

Cold Light

View on black, this photo is much better that way.

After experiencing the coldest temperatures I have ever camped in, I decided to summit the eureka dunes in the pre-dawn light. At 14 degrees F, it was pretty hard to get out of my sleeping bag. Once we reached the top of the dunes, the panoramic view made the entire ordeal worth it. Most striking was the first light illuminating the southern portion of the dunes.

I finally made it to the famed racetrack. A place so remote and so devoid of life that even the rocks get bored.

Brewing Storm - Zabriskie Point

Brewing Storm - Zabriskie Point

A massive thunderstorm builds up near zabriskie point in Death Valley. I shot from this vantage point until black clouds and distant thunder over the funeral mountains told me to be on my way.

Mineral Labyrinth

Mineral Labyrinth

A solitary walk through the Tufas at mono lake around midnight back in October was one of the most amazing nature experiences I have had.

Please take a moment to view it on black, thanks!

Been sitting on this one for a year now. Long exposure on a beautiful frosty morning in Yosemite. Hoping to get back out there soon.
