October 22, 2009 - Baby swans no more

Four of the six babies have made it through and are now nearly adults. Two appear to be larger than the mother. All look very healthy. The largest baby seems to have inherited his father's nasty temper. Look out geese of the world!

Yeah -he usually scoots outta here a bit ahead of the group. The first year I was feeling bad because I know they mate for life but then they both cam back in the Spring.

I think he just gets tired of those pushy aggressive teen-aged kids of his and takes a little break. Mom is a lot more patient. That big one (front, right) is a nasty one - just like his daddy.
