Mil-26 over Siberia

Another picture from a bunch sent to me by Misha, a helicopter pilot in Siberia. Mil-26 hovers over tundra.

See here on the 'Bush Flying. 'Bush Flying. Siberian Style'.

Wow! Nice shot! I like that "eternal" swamp in the background! =)
And it really makes such a huge helicopter as Mi-26 look like a "small bug"

      foo_fighter,
yes, it is a 'permafrost' and 'eternal swamp'' country. It's funny, but when they want to 'emphasize' the fact how BIG real mosquitoes are in this region, they are referring them to.. those huge helicopters! :) It is true!

Hallo everybody! At present time Canadian Mil-26 set for the winter in Whitecourt, AB. It`s typically for most Mil-26 because It basically used since early spring till late fall, no matter where to work within Russia or Canada. Oil company NABORS plans to use this huge machine for it`s purposes in march-april next year. I`ve been working as navigator exactly this RA-06297 in the Nothern Alberta, Yukon, NWT and BC and I could say there is very similar landscape, terrain and weather. I`d say I felt myself in Canada "like at home".
