ha, its like you've lived in a cave your
whole life unaware of the redonculous evils
that corporate life envelope you with. I mean
I freelanced for 5 years, but was always
keenly aware of corporate asshattery.

Nympho - lol You're right.. it IS like I've lived
in a cave! The previous company I worked for
in Europe was significantly smaller (25
employees) so everyone spoke openly, plus
Germans are pretty blunt and honest. There
wasn't much whispering behind people's back.
This corporation is massive. I've heard about
office gossip, but this is the first time I'm
actually experiencing it first hand.

Now that's right. I'm glad to see you've

It is destroying my office right now.
Anger, side long comments, and innuendos are
making life difficult for several people.

I had this ideal when I started where I did.
But the gossip overcame me. My new resolution
is not to say ANYTHING behind someone's back
that I wouldn't say to their face. And it's
one I've been able to stick by, thankfully.
Sometimes you can't avoid the gossip.... but
I like that you really want to. Good on ya!

Yeah - but didn't you hear? Margret got her
skirt tucked up in her panties and spent the
rest of the day on show to the accounts dept.
Clarity - this shocking revelation may be
new to you but you are absoloutely right -
Ignore what you hear and don't pass it on and
you'll be good to go. There are people I
know that trade on gossip and it never does
them or anyone else any benefit.

I'm glad that there's not a lot of gossiping
in my office - at least not that I'm hearing
it...;-) We are just nice and good together
and if we do have a problem, we speak open.
That makes things so easy!
I think it's good, if you don't go into
that gossiping-thing. It's always better to
keep out of things like that.

I haven't heard a lot of gossip in this
office, but in my last office - everyone
seemed to trust me with their problems and
worries (some of it was way more information
than i needed from colleagues!!).. So -
because they trusted me they were always at
me for other peoples worries/problems/gossip
- perverse huh?

I'm a hopeless gossiper if someone told me a
'secret' I always kept it that way, I think I
have probably killed off a lot of 'good
gossip' in my time ;) It would reach me and
then stop dead...ooops, still I think it's
better that way. This is a great fun shot
though, i think in a strange way you are
beginning to quite enjoy this job or at least
settle into it :)

may never know what they are talking about
you. The best you can do I think just simply
ignore it....at least I try to do in this
way...you can never stop them
unfortunately...

Tantalising is how I would describe this one,
you have captured a softness here which
ordinarily shouldn't be available in 2
dimensions... I know that this has little to
do with the subject of the image however...
I think that you will find that 90% of the
gossip is actually quite harmless - nothing
to get upset about, just part of the fact
that people in workplaces otherwise have very
little in common. There is a proportion of
the gossip however, that has malicious
intent, based within workplace rivalry agenda
of various protagonists. It is difficult to
distinguish sometimes, and you have to be
wary of indulging in the harmless gossip for
fear that it becomes twisted by someone else
into the latter type... Personally, I remain
relatively aloof, and while that might keep
me from properly 'belonging', at least I
don't get caught up in the politics - and I
have the benefit of being respected by most
factions (at least that's how I see it, and
if it isn't that way, I'm happy in my own
delusion ; )...

Good news? Receive it openly. Just about
everything else? Don't let it in. You may get
cut out of the office "jucy-ness"
but you'll stay free. Just an opinion, and
the way I play it when it comes my way!
