I think this is Hohenbuehelia bingarra
ID from Perth Fungi Field Book. Other Hohenbuehelia sp. on mushroomobserver.org/ have the rippling growth of this fungus.

Other possible IDs are:
Fan Pax - Tapinella panuoides or
Southern Oyster Mushroom - Pleurotus australis

see the broken gills? it was growing next to the wood pile and someone (not me!) dropped wood on it and squashed it beyound repair :( perhaps it'll come back next winter.
