notebooks

I've kept a journal on and off over the last ten years, but in the last few years I seem to have been a bit more committed to it.

It's not a diary as such more just a place to write down things that interest me and I don't want to forget.

It's interesting to look back over the years and see what I was reading and thinking.

The more I take the time to sit down a draw it seem the more I get out of it.

What is evident in my notebooks is how impatient I am.

I never use a pencil. Every line, true or mistaken, becomes part of the sketch and then I move on. If I still like them in a day or two I might colour them in photoshop.

What I can't stand is contemplating them . The mark-making is the beginning and the end for me.
