What scale is this? Is that a full size turntable?

Yes, it's a full size turntable. The whole device is about 70cm long.

No, it's not a full size turntable. It's the same size as a 7" record. LPs and 12" disks were able to be played with the lid down, but the disk hangs out of the back a little. If you look at the back of the lid, you can see a cut out, and that's where the disk goes (about 1cm outside the box itself). On the photo here the cutout is rectangular, on ours the lid had a beautiful curved cut out, just large enough for the record (although on some spectacularly warped records I owned they would occasionally brush against the lid. .

does it work with exterior amps or preamps? Are there any rca out connections?

From memory there is a 5pin DIN socket at the back (180degrees I think) which I used to use to get sound in (mono only). I think there used to be an extra speaker available in the same style, but I am guessing single channel mono. Hope that helps.

Tip, look for them on german ebay. You can pick them up for about half of the ones on ebay.com (which mostly come out of germany anyway).
