The Apple Store (UK) is no longer selling G5 iMacs, so all you Adobe users needing a new computer better act fast. I highly recommend Jigsaw 24.

I second you recommendation of Jigsaw 24. I bought my [reconditioned] iBook from them and whilst it developed two nasty faults over the course of a year, Jigsaw 24's service was flawless and they even sneaked in a FREE memory upgrade.

I just got an Intel iMac (2GHz) and I gotta say it's not too bad in Photoshop. I'd been using a 1GHz PowerBook, and the Intel Mac is at least as fast, if not faster.

Granted, I've been doing mostly web work (i.e. smallish files) but I did play around with a bunch of 20MB+ photos and it was very smooth and decently quick.

I haven't tried any gigantic print work yet, but with 1GB of RAM (I've got another GB on its way) the Intel Mac seems to be as fast under Rosetta as a two- or three-year-old G4.

*Jealous* - I gotta get a desktop Mac too - I have a G4 Powerbook, but it's getting lonely on the desk on it's own. Plus the missus has told me we can't have one until we've finished decorating the house. Boring!
