Swimming In Harmony

    Newer Older

The morning before we had to leave Hawaii, my wife and I woke up early and walked down the beach to go for a swim. We were lucky enough to have a warm send off by this large green sea turtle.

Magnolia Mom, Laura Mary, and 119 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I have a recollection of turtle who loved swimming very next me. So it was the first one, I afraid from her but I loved this moment out of the ordinary.

Thanks everyone for your comments and faves.

BTW, what is it with all these people on Flickr posting images for pools in people's photostreams? I'm flattered that be invited, but I find that these images posted along with the comment to be a bit tacky. Sorry, but that's just the way I see it.

Even though I've made the Explore page a number of times in the past with my photography, I still don't feel the need to brag about it. Yes, it's an honor... but I feel it is best to say "thank you" and bow humbly to the people that applaud you. I think it's OK to be proud of your accomplishments, but I find arrogant people to be quite unattractive.

coteau_sauvage - I know what you mean about being a bit scared. These turtles can get quite large (like the one pictured above) and who's to say they're not going to turn on you?. I think it's safe to say that these turtles have seen a few people in their lives and know that snorkelers are not a threat to them. Although, a turtle this size, who isn't accustomed to people, may have a different attitude towards someone swimming to close to them.
