The sign has long been a symbol of the glamour associated with Hollywood. Built in the fall of 1923, the sign originally read “HOLLYWOODLAND” and was constructed as advertising for a subdivision at the top of Beachwood Canyon. Each letter is now constructed of steel and is approximately 50 feet high. The length is 450 feet.

One of the cleanest representations of this endearing icon I've ever seen. Well done! :)

Awesome creative commons shot! We're using it on our raw food weight loss blog tomorrow at:http://rawfoodblog.purejeevan.com/?p=3245 We originally were looking for some celebrity shots, but decided that a pic of the famous Hollywood sign would suit us best. :-) Attribution and link-back gladly included in the blog post. Thanks again! -Jim
