He did.

He did.

1955 - 2011
Mourning the loss of one of my heroes.

I was stunned to hear of Steve Jobs passing. His ill-health had been quite in the foreground in recent years even as he continued to masterfully forge the directions of major industries with his vision and to personally touch millions of individuals with the engaging creations he helped conjure into being. However, I wasn't ready for losing him so soon.

His famous 1985 speech at Stanford summed up a perspective which I try to maintain in my own life: Don't take your life for granted or live someone else's dream, essentially.

I would like to extend my condolences to his family and friends and will always have him in my mind as an inspiring human being. Very much in the vein of the "Think Different" Apple slogan. He has entered the pantheon of the greats that were featured in those ads: Einstein, The Dalai Lama, Picasso, etc.

I am an artist and have used Apple computers as tools for my own creative expression for nearly two decades. I am certain the elegance and ingenuity that those tools have always embodied have helped color my work in very positive and inspiring ways, and for that I will always be grateful to Steve Jobs.

I felt compelled to share my thoughts and feelings about the loss of this amazing man, but also to state my belief that his powerful light still shines on brightly in me, and I believe the same is true for millions of others' as well.
