Lauren, this is amazing. I don't know what else to say. But, I'll try and convey what I feel. The detail is amazing (polaroids don't capture this) and the rich deep dark black hues are amazing contrasting to your flesh. The image evokes a feeling of sensuality. This really is fine art at it's best.

sinsong... thanks! this was shot with my nikon d300. but more importantly, i think it boils down to lens. i used the 85mm f/1.4 nikkor lens here. not the easiest self-portrait lens by any means, but i like to give it a go every once and a while :)

mtbtrials... this was a 2 light set-up. one strong light with reflector and one much smaller wattage light on opposite side.

v1snap... yep... most of my interior shots are shot with hot lights. though i have a couple of speedlights and stands that i plan on experimenting with shortly. big hot lights are a pain in the ass to transport :)

Beautiful photograph. The range of tones, detail and dof(super lens by the way), mood, story contained and of course the sensuality.

I would have liked to have seen the "sweat" a little more active. Trails and wider glistening to give it a real August sweat touch.

Super great. But the red lipstick sends it over the top. (I mean over the top in a gooooood way!) Its funny because I end up chopping off all the head but the mouth in my paintings (almost never on purpose!) but I kind of like it. It makes it more abstract somehow. I think its has an expressionistic effect, like hearing the sigh but not seeing the thought. Hard to explain.
