Nice Clear shot, Cindy... It's the same way
getting behind a tractor...Maybe a little
faster but not much I bet!!!

Thanks Cindy, Rick and Greg.
Cindy, tractors are very common around
here, too. They go slow, but not nearly as
slow as the Amish. The Amish run on one
horsepower, sometimes two.

It seems odd that the Amish appear to have
settled on the mid nineteenth century as
their choice of lo-tech as that was a time of
great optimism and enthusiasm for
technological change.

I'm not sure how their religion works. They
are originally from Germany and many of their
kids learn German as a first language, then
English when they get older. I'll do some
research this evening and if I find anything
interesting I'll let you know.

Sorry you were stuck behind the buggy, but
glad you had time to take this amazing shot.
The car and the buggy nicely show the
contrast between 2 ways of life!

I'm used to following the buggies. What I
don't like is driving through the horse crap,
but that's part of life around here, too.

Thank you to the kind people of the

car to pass before I could go around the
buggy. I'm glad I took it now. Thank you

the american philosopher henry david thoreau
once wrote:
the only thing we need is consequence...
(I would prefer electricity nevertheless,
because I think a computer is important);
maybe we could miss some other things without
any problem: juke-boxes, car-races,
experiments with rockets and tanks or
aircraft-carriers?

I'm too moderized I guess. Besides my
computer I also require running water, hot
water, toilets and air-conditioning. I would
not make a good Amsih.
