I live in a wooden house so its very encouraging how long a wooden building stands up to the weather!

Oh wow, it is an official historical site! They should remember it's there! :-) I don't like it when I run into places like this, but I guess they either run out of time or people to go check on every site.

It's very, very far off the beaten path. I must say it's worth the trip, though. I plan to go back when the leaves start turning colors.

I bet it would be beautiful with the leaves turning colors! We love places that are far off the beaten path, they're the best places to explore. :)

I descend from George Beck, Sr. (PA>NC>IN) who was the founder of the original Beck's Mill, built 1808, after his family left the area of Abbotts Creek, Pounders Fork, now Davidson Co., NC, and settled near Salem, Indiana along Mill Creek, Blue River. My ancestor was their son Andrew M. Beck (to Texas) >Alexander Devin Beck>John Jefferson Beck>John Chaarles Beck. The Friends of Beck's Mill have done a super emphasis of maintaining the now restored mill where it again grinds grains and is one of the outstanding historical places in Indiana, on the National Register of Historic Places. Hallelujah and thanks to the Cook family who made Becks Mill a restored place. Texas1933@aol.com
