One day our team visited Jeevan Jyoti Clinic in one of Pune's largest red light districts. It is run by Dr. Ruby, a woman who gave her practice to offer free medical care to local residents, sex workers, and eunuchs.
--
One of the commercial sex workers. We later prayed for her and found out some of her story. She has a six month old daughter that was kidnapped from the streets. She has never seen her since. She was worried because she is now pregnant again and fears this child may see a similar fate. There is also the "cleansing fee" she will face if the baby is born in the brothel — 10,000 rupees. It would take her years and years to work that off, if she ever did.
The good news is that she was taken to a nearby care center where she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Following his birth she left the red light district and returned to her village. Unfortuantely, she wasn't suited for rural life and returned to a life of prostitution in the red light area. This is the fate and cycle many of these girls share.

This photo made me cry. It's painful to see
others suffering like this. You want so much
to help them, but you can only do so much.

My god: Horrible, I hope that she has some
help, if not I will get her out of that hell
hole and bring her her if I can find her.
