East London Line, Canary Wharf & The City: Summer 2004Canary Wharf & Docklands Truman Brewery "The Gherkin" Some kind of old signal box Trains A VERY dodgy footbridge ![]() ![]() I was cleaning up some folders on my harddrive and came across this.

I made this last summer when I crashed the night at Tom & Dom's house just off Brick Lane. At the time, Tom was complaining of having very blank walls but not knowing what to put up on them. We decided to do something about it. In our hungover state we took a bunch of photos from their back windows. The train track is just behind the house (VERY loud at night). From one window you can see the City, from another you can see Canary Wharf. It seemed like a good idea to quickly photoshop them together and see what it looked like. This is the result. Annoyingly, I accidentally saved the PSD image with the layers flattened, so I've never been able to tweak it since that morning. As a result, it's not exactly a Photoshop masterclass! Even so, Tom got it printed out at A1 size, and it's now on his wall. Eventually, I'll get around to doing something for his other wall. He says he wants it "green & grassy". Commentsaliaydogmus35

ADDENDUM:
I recently saw the film "Children of Men" (I highly recommend it!) and there was quite a major scene in which Clive Owen and Julianne Moore have a conversation while crossing this footbridge.
It was interesting to see a major movie and be able to say "wait a sec, isn't that just round the corner..."
Doesn't often happen in London.
