It's almost sad to see them this way. Cut down but not bought, not making someone's Christmas merry, tied in bundles instead of spreading their bows over presents... B&W fits.

It is sad to see them this way, but then I'm a bit of a tree nut so cut trees always make me a little sad. B&W really fits the mood of this, great job.

Dee & Kerrin -- The funny thing was that earlier in the day I walked by a pile of freshly chipped Christmas trees [or pine at least smelled wonderful]. So many of these may end up in a pile like that shortly. Sad but, hopefully, at least recycled.

Nyl -- Sorry you don't have any of these. They smell wonderful!

Agree with sally henny penny, to see a cut tree is always sad.
Great work, B&W is perfect for that mood.

Nice one Chris - again, great effect with the high contrast and the black and white.

Reminds me: trash days after xmas are sad, when they drag the big woodchipper behind and take out a block of trees at a time. Remind me to try to capture that!

Isa -- Thank you. Hope you had a wonderful day too.

Matt -- Thank you. Wow...they do that infront of everyone....so sad. That could traumatize the small ones.

Thanks for the POTD Heather!!

Viewed from a distance could be lobster pots or cabbages. A black border or "View on black" would work well.
