Wheel Inn Sign

The neon sign on top of the famous Wheel Inn Drive-In in Sedalia, Missouri. The local landmark will be closed permanently in September 2007, ending 60 years of operation. They are famous for their peanut butter hamburgers called Guber Burgers.

Too bad. I used to drive by that place everyday. I had no idea that it had been around so long. I neve had their goober burger, but I've made them myself and they are really good. You wouldn't ever think that peanut butter and burger would taste so good together but yet they do.

I stopped by the wheel inn this June and learned about the coming closing of the place. I was surprised at how upset I was to know that another great piece of americana was succumbing to "progress".
