Tangle of Winter

Tangle of Winter

Please have a look on black (press L)

This is an in camera multiple exposure made towards the end of last winter as catkins began to appear among the bare branches. I believe that this picture is three seperate exposures overlayed in camera.

I feel sure this will not be to everyones taste but I like the chaotic tangle of branches.

SoCal in winter

SoCal in winter

This is what passes for winter in San Diego. I was stood knee deep in the Pacific in shorts and sweatshirt watching the surfers bobbing around in the waves. Incidentally the triangle on the end of the pier is a Christmas tree so this really is what December looks like in San Diego, beats the dreary grey December we had in Wales.

River weed

River weed

I had set out to photograph autumnal leaf litter in the stream up Castle Upon Alun when I made this image, but that didn't really work out and this deep green vegetation growing in the near-black water caught my eye. I used as short an exposure as possible to maintain some of the glassy undulating texture of the waters surface while using a small enough aperture to maintain sharpness throughout.

P.S. please have a gander on black (press L)
