Having fun with my lensbaby reminds me that L-Series is not the only way to go.

The Delaina
Not posting as much lately as I would like. I need to go back through my work and find some of the gems that I've neglected to finalize and put online.
I really like how delicate this shot came out. Tilt shift portraits can really work out well when the work out. I need to spend more time learning this skill.

@ tapas
Trying to hand-hold a portrait at a slow shutter speed while out for tapas in Grand Rapids.
I'm really happy with this portrait. Perfect pose, and IMHO great composition. The warm side lighting is intentional. Kind of a complex setting to shoot in.

Goodnight Moon!
My annual attempt at shooting the moon is going to increase in frequency. I'm set on nailing this down better!!
Took this with the EF 500mm f/4L IS USM and 2x Extender. I supported it with an Induro CF tripod and CB Gimbal. Still had more shake than I wanted, and couldn't focus and shoot fast enough to beat the speed of the moon coasting across the sky - moves fast when watching it at an effective 1,000mm focal length!
The biggest problem in my opinion is the x2 extender. It's just not sharp enough, and without it the crop reduces effective resolution to the point where you lose more details than one might want.
I find that the captured colour of the moon never looks right, and I can't figure out a way to get my passport into "representative lighting", so I just turn it to B&W and put in some split-toning in LR. Works for me.
Next attempt: Later in the year when there is less humidity in the air, less windy day, sand bag hung from the tripod, and maybe an 800mm rental.
I'll do better next time.

Shooting flowers
I think I've come to the conclusion that if I'm going to do macros, I need to get a person (or part of a person) in there.
I like shooting people, so I need to incorporate them into the composition in the future.
Either that or I need to get Janitka or Rich to give me a lesson!
