Planet Moeraki

Here's a shot which was in my 'non-keeper' (i.e. bin) folder. By the time I took this shot, the colour had all but faded from the sky and the foreground is pretty much a mess.

But I was playing around with the Nik Silver Efex filter last night and I quite like how the rocks look in B&W, so here you go.

the bw really put the focus on the nice textures and structures on the rocks. besides, those round balls looks quite interesting, like the fossil balls of an ancient reptile or so :-)

Holy crap! That is a tremendous shot. Love those rock features. Contrast is perfect here for black and white, from the sand to the rocks to the sky. LOVE when I find something in my trash files that I end up liking, but don't have anything that turned out as well as this! Great shot.
