This was taken on our last evening of the tour. It was overcast with some showers about, so it wasn't looking too promising for any more photos. Nevertheless we went to our planned location (somewhere between Palmerston and Moeraki, I forget exactly where!) and waited, just in case.
As the sun was setting, a small gap appeared in the clouds to let some light through. We started taking shots but I wasn't overly happy with what I got - rolling hills with a bit of sun on them isn't really my thing.
Just as I started to think about packing up my gear, a nice little rainbow had formed out towards the sea! The sun was still shining through the clouds (camera right) and lit up this gate and grass nicely, so I rushed over and clicked away. Even though it's not my usual type of shot, I'm pretty happy with the end result.
